Is Your Passport Still Green?

Is your passport still green?

If it is then you need to head on to DFA to have your passport changed to the new machine-readable kind. Machine readable passports are valid until the expiry indicated on the passport whereas the green/manually scripted passports are only valid until April 10, 2010! That's less than a month from now!

Go to http://www.passport.com.ph (Don't worry it's the DFA website for passport applications and renewals.) to schedule your appointment and know more about the process and document requirements.

Setting an appointment is easy. Just go to http://www.passport.com.ph go to the "Set an Appointment" link.

Make sure you have the following information ready especially if you're setting an appointment for other people as well.

  1. Complete name
  2. Birth Date
  3. Birth Place
  4. Old passport number (for renewal)
  5. Father's Name
  6. Mother's Maiden Name
  7. Complete Address
  8. Telephone Number
  9. Mobile Number
After putting in your information, it's now time to set your appointment. Appointments are set in 30 minute time increments. Just pick the time. Take note of your appointment reference number and print out your application form.

Be there 30 minutes before your schedule! According to the website, they won't entertain both early and late comers.

I've already set my schedule and I blocked off an entire day for it. You never know with these government things. They mostly take forever unless you know the right people (if you know what I mean ;) ).

Is your passport already the new one?

Let us know how it went.
